Arsenal midfielder and England Under-19 international Maddy Earl has joined SWPL leaders Glasgow City on loan for the rest of the season.
City head coach Leanne Ross said: “Maddy is an impressive talent, and we’re pleased that she will spend the rest of the season with us.
“She is a player who possesses an attacking threat from the midfield and has good technical qualities, which suits the way that we want to play. We’re looking forward to seeing the impact she has throughout the campaign.”
Maddy Earl: her football career so far
Earl signed her first professional contract with Arsenal in January 2025, after winning several trophies within the academy, which she joined at the age of eight.
When she signed that deal, she told the club’s official website: “It’s such an honour and a privilege to be able to sign for my childhood club. It’s a club that I’ve grown up with and I think that it’s just amazing to be able to sign here.“I think it’s just the club as a whole, the values and the ethos of the club, it’s just amazing to be a part of and I can’t wait to continue my journey throughout.
“I think being here from so young has helped me massively grow and develop and, being at Hale End, the boys were amazing. They were so fast and the intensity was so good. So, I definitely feel that it’s enabled me to be the player that I am today.”
Head of player development James Honeyman added: “Maddy has been a key part of our academy set-up and we’re so proud of her journey and the steps she has taken to begin her transition to the senior environment. We’re all looking forward to supporting Maddy as she continues her development in the game.”
