‘We have to go there and get what we want’ – Black Princesses gear up for crunch qualifier in Johannesburg – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Scores, Results

Ghana’s Black Princesses head coach Charles Sampson has delivered a clear and determined message ahead of their decisive FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against South Africa.

His team will travel to Johannesburg with a single objective — to win.

“They came here and got, maybe, what they wanted,” Sampson said, reflecting on Sunday’s 2–2 first-leg draw at the Accra Sports Stadium. “Now, we have to go there and get what we want to be able to go further.”

The result leaves Ghana with no margin for error in the return fixture. Only a victory will see them advance to the final round of qualifiers, where they would face either Zambia or Uganda.

Despite dropping points at home, Sampson remains confident in his squad’s ability to respond under pressure.
“Our aim is to qualify, and thankfully, the games are not the only ones. We have another game, and this is only the first half of it,” he added. “We will do everything we can and make sure we go to Johannesburg and qualify for the next round.”

The Black Princesses have qualified for every edition of the U-20 Women’s World Cup since their debut in 2010.
Protecting that perfect record now depends on delivering when it matters most — away from home, against a motivated South African side.

With a place in Poland on the line, Sampson’s side knows what they must do: go there and get exactly what they want.
