Morgan Rogers has started his Chelsea in hot form since signing from Aston Villa in the summer.
He cost £117m and couldn’t have done a much better of paying it off that his games so far. He’s got 4 goals and an assist in 6 games in the Premier League, and has played 97% of Chelsea’s minutes. That good form has carried over to England, where his minutes and contributions at the World Cup have continued in the Nations League.
After a successful break with England he was right back into the Chelsea team for yesterday’s game against Bournemouth, and after the game Xabi Alonso was asked if he had any doubts about playing his young attacker even after four England appearances in the three week break.
Rogers a “complete modern player” and able

“No, because he’s young, he’s fresh, he’s strong, he’s quick,” Alonso replied.
“He’s a very complete, modern football player. His availability is very high as well, so that’s very, very important. He looks fresh and he’s enjoying it because he connects very well with his teammates. He’s a great guy connecting with many teammates and he’s having a great impact, I would say, for the club.”
We couldn’t agree more.
