Beitar Jerusalem have strengthened their squad with the signing of Ghanaian defender Nana Antwi on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
The 25-year-old defender has signed after completing a move from Romanian giants Steaua Bucharest, following his most recent spell with Hermannstadt. Known for his impressive physical presence and athleticism, he is expected to add depth, pace and aggression to the team’s back line.
Antwi is primarily a right-back but is described as a versatile player who can also operate as a right winger and, if needed, on the left side of defence.
The club believe he can contribute on both sides of the ball, combining strong one-on-one duels with constant up-and-down runs along the flank. His career has already taken him through leagues in Armenia, France and Romania, experience that Beitar see as a major asset for adapting quickly to Israeli football and the demands of the Premier League.
Beitar have also secured a purchase option as a sign of their long-term faith in his potential. Antwi landed in Israel this morning, is undergoing medical tests, and will immediately join team training
