Americans Abroad Midweek Rewind: Aaronson, Trusty, and more

Brenden Aaronson’s busy winter continued Tuesday with the American attacker helping Leeds United earn a vital draw at Stamford Bridge.

Aaronson started and played 90 minutes as Daniel Farke’s squad rallied to earn a 2-2 draw with Chelsea. The result moved the Lilywhites six points clear of the bottom-three and also helped Leeds United earn its fourth point out of six against the Blues this season.

Although Aaronson wasn’t on the stat-sheet, he worked tirelessly from his attacking midfield position. He drew one foul, won two duels, and completed 94% of his passes in the match. It marked Aaronson’s 25th league appearance of the season and his 10th-straight start in EPL play.

A busy schedule continues for Leeds United this weekend as they travel to second-tier Birmingham City in FA Cup action. Following that, Aaronson and Co. visit Aston Villa in EPL play before closing the month at Elland Road against Manchester City.

Elsewhere, Auston Trusty and Celtic picked up three points in midweek SPFL action. Chris Richards and Crystal Palace suffered a home loss to Burnley. Tyler Adams and Antonee Robinson did not feature for their clubs. Gianluca Busio and Venezia suffered a setback in Serie B play.
