Racing Louisville brought the Portland Thorns their first loss of the season, defeating the league’s leaders 3-1 Friday night.
At first, the game looked to be heading in a different direction when Sophia Wilson scored off an assist from Olivia Moultrie in the sixth minute.
But Katie O’Kane responded for Racing with a strike in the 14th minute, her second-career goal. And it was O’Kane who came through much later in the game, when both teams were looking to break the deadlock.
Putting a free kick from the left straight into the goal’s top corner, O’Kane completed her first-ever career brace and pulled Louisville ahead in the 76th minute.
Emma Sears, who came off the bench, sealed the deal with a finish six minutes into stoppage time.
