Liam Delap’s future at Chelsea is very uncertain despite the fact the striker only signed for us a year ago.

Chelsea have a lot of questions to answer in the transfer market this summer, and one of the big ones is “what to do with Liam Delap?”

The striker scored two goals in 41 appearances in his first Premier League season, and most fans have already given up hope of him ever being a regular starter, let alone a star player. Nizaar Kinsella has just written a piece which asks “what’s next” for the Man City academy product.

Kinsella tries to make excuses for Delap by saying there were “injuries,” but that doesn’t explain a 26 game goal drought to end the season. Certainly an early season shoulder problem didn’t help, but he had months and months after that to improve and never did.

According to the journalist, Chelsea are not “actively” looking to sell Delap, but they know the low fee they paid for him should make it easy to move him on if an offer comes in.

In other news…

Tottenham are making serious moves to add an experienced Premier League central defender of the type that Chelsea would really like.

Another potential addition for the Blues this summer would be Dusan Vlahovic, who is a free agent at last after leaving Juventus. He would be expensive – but is experienced, with an eye for goal.
