Nathaniel Adjei produced a remarkable individual display, scoring five goals as Greater Accra Region opened their 2026 MTN Elite U-19 Championship campaign with a 6-0 demolition of Upper East Region on Wednesday.Adjei needed just 60 seconds to open the scoring before adding his second in the 36th minute.The forward completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot four minutes before half-time as Greater Accra went into the break with a commanding 3-0 lead.Adjei continued his scoring spree after the restart, finding the net again in the 49th minute before completing his five-goal haul five minutes later.Evans Ketu added Greater Accras sixth goal to complete a dominant victory and give the region an ideal start to their Group B campaign.In the other Group B fixture, Central Region came from behind twice to beat Northern Region 3-2 in a dramatic contest at the GFA Technical Hub.Abubakar Salim put Northern ahead in the opening minute before Desmond Korletey quickly restored parity.Salim scored again in the 30th minute to put Northern back in front, but Korletey struck again in the 56th minute.With the game heading towards a draw, Hope Gamet scored two minutes into regulation time to complete Central Regions comeback.The results have given Group B an exciting start, with the MTN Elite U-19 Championship continuing to provide a platform for Ghanas emerging talents to gain competitive experience.
