The NWSL and international break gave us some great moments in the month of June. As teams jockey for position in the table, and others make their debuts for the national team, the summer time is the best for NWSL fans. At least half of the top ten goals have a common theme: spectacular solo runs where no additional help was needed. That feeling of invincibility after beating multiple defenders and scoring is unlike anything else on the pitch. Let’s enjoy the power, precision, and ruthless finishing from some of the world’s best in this week’s edition of Top 10 Goals for June.
10. Geyse – Gotham FC

Geyse has been a huge signing for Gotham, scoring goals left and right. If you give the Brazilian any space, she’s going to make you pay. Nealy Martin played a picture-perfect ball that dropped into the path of Geyse, who had to out hustle multiple Bay FC defenders to the ball. The athleticism displayed to leap up and get to the ball before the defender and keeper can arrive was special from Geyse. The pass from Nealy Martin was sublime as well. Overall, it was a great team goal for Gotham.
9. Yazmeen Ryan – Houston Dash
Go on, Yazmeen 🚀

Yazmeen Ryan is Houston’s best player, and she’s done nothing but deliver since making the move from Gotham. It’s plays like these that make it easy to see why she’s consistently getting called in for the USWNT. Look at where she picked this ball up before taking it all the way. She’s almost at midfield before beating the Wave defender to the ball and then showing the strength to finish the play. Ryan still had one more defender to beat and did it beautifully. Trinity Armstrong did the right thing to force her inside onto her left foot, but the finish from Ryan was simply too good, highlighting how great she’s become playing with both feet. Houston needs to do everything it can to keep Yasmeen Ryan with the Dash.
8. Manaka Matsukubo – North Carolina Courage
🚨CHIP ALERT🚨
20-year-old Manaka Matsukubo chips the goalkeeper to score this beauty! pic.twitter.com/NsSPBmJUWV
— National Women’s Soccer League (@NWSL) June 8, 2025
Manaka Matsukubo is one of the best young players in the NWSL that no one is talking about enough. The Courage has a young star who is proving to be a handful for NWSL defenses. Matsukubo barely had an angle when she decided to take the shot. Once the keeper decided to come out, the chip was available, but the ball was bouncing away from the goal. That’s what makes this goal incredible. Her body shape is off, she was going away from the goal, and somehow, someway she chipped the keeper to score. This was an insane level of difficulty, but Manaka Matsukubo made it look easy.
7. Alyssa Malonson – Bay FC
No idea how Alyssa Malonson scores a goal from THIS angle 📐 pic.twitter.com/zBM7954fjK
— National Women’s Soccer League (@NWSL) June 8, 2025
Alyssa Malonson has been giving Bay FC great minutes as a nationally capped player for the USWNT. Malonson’s ability to get forward and contribute is what separates her from other defenders in the league. This goal is a perfect example. This is the finish of an elite striker; you never would’ve guessed a defender like Malonson could finish like this. It’s a clean strike from Malonson, the commentator in the clip thought it was a cross, but it was a clear shot. Watch how Malonson ran onto the ball and put her foot through it; the ball ended up in the top netting for a stunning finish–no way that was a cross.
6. Sally Menti – Seattle Reign
First pro goal ✅
Second NWSL game ✅Rookie Sally Menti scores from distance! pic.twitter.com/SL6XJtXXTU
— National Women’s Soccer League (@NWSL) June 7, 2025
Sally Menti is a rookie who has come out of nowhere to earn a spot with the Seattle Reign. Menti has already been relied upon in four games this season and is clearly making her presence felt. This goal was the moment that essentially stamped her playing time with the team. A long-range screamer that seemed destined for the net from the moment it left her foot. The former Santa Clara star has taken her chance and run with it, talk about a moment she’ll never forget.
5. Ludmila – Chicago Stars FC
A spectacular solo goal from Ludmila 🤩
Peep the footwork on this too! pic.twitter.com/Nvu6TvKrdy
— National Women’s Soccer League (@NWSL) June 14, 2025
Ludmila has been on fire for the Chicago Stars this season. The Brazilian has taken over as the team’s go-to player with Mallory Swanson out. Ludmila picked this ball up in her own half and dummied the defender before taking off in acres of space. Still going all on her own, she proceeded to slice and dice the second Reign defender before firing the shot to the far post. The power, speed, and determination to score were all on display. Chicago has something special in Ludmila.
4. Alyssa Thompson – USWNT

— U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team (@USWNT) June 27, 2025
The sky is the limit for Alyssa Thompson, who gets better and better with each game that she plays for club and country. These are exactly the kinds of goals that make Alyssa Thompson so dangerous, because in the blink of an eye, she’s gone. Lilly Reale did a great job of hustling and getting the ball to her, which left Thompson to do the rest. One quick touch was all she needed to beat the first defender before taking on the second. That poor defender was left on an island one-on-one with Thompson and didn’t force her to the endline. Thompson is just too fast, and quickly cut onto her right foot and curled her shot into the corner pocket perfectly. Alyssa Thompson is a game-changer without a doubt.
3. Ally Schlegel – Chicago Stars FC
The run. The strike. The celly.
An absolute thing of beauty by Ally Schlegel 🤌 pic.twitter.com/Mnpnh076Un
— National Women’s Soccer League (@NWSL) June 8, 2025
Ally Schlegel is capable of providing moments of magic for Chicago. The striker hasn’t scored often, but when she has, it’s usually a banger. Schlegel decided that if no one from Angel City was going to step up and stop her, she was going to take the shot. There’s not much else to say other than it’s a perfect strike. Great technique, and the raise the roof celebration was an even better touch. The Stars have great young pieces; they just need to get the best out of them more consistently.
2. Emma Sears – Racing Louisville

— National Women’s Soccer League (@NWSL) June 7, 2025
Emma Sears is becoming a must-watch player when she’s on the pitch. Every time she gets the ball, she’s always looking to take on defenders and go for goal. She never backs down from a challenge and possesses an extra bit of tenacity when faced with one. This goal is a perfect example of why you need to tune in and see her play. The footwork to cut inside is elite, but the speed at which she made the move is strong, decisive, and elite. Then the strike to put the ball in the far corner is sublime; the way the ball dipped and swerved gave the keeper no chance of stopping it.
Now, it might have been a consolation goal in a losing effort, but this long-range effort from Bárbara Olivieri takes the top spot on the list. The recycled ball fell to her after a cleared corner kick. All she needed was one touch to set her up. The Mexican international then proceeded to put her foot through it, watch the ball take a bounce off the pitch and onto the post before going in. A perfectly accurate long-range screamer takes the top spot after another amazing month of goals.
