Crystal Palace are one match away from reaching a first-ever European Final, but need to avoid a second-leg surge from Shakhtar Donetsk to do so.
Chris Richards and his Palace teammates will welcome the Ukrainian side to Selhurst Park on Thursday, holding a 3-1 aggregate advantage. Oliver Glasner’s men suffered a 3-0 Premier League defeat to AFC Bournemouth on Sunday and will need to show a short memory in order to rebound on home soil.
Richards made a late cameo in Sunday’s trip to the South Coast, playing the final 14 minutes of the match following Chadi Riad’s injury. The American defender has made 12 appearances in this season’s Conference League schedule and 45 across all competitions.
Shakhtar Donetsk are currently leading the Ukrainian Premier League and will be seeking to reach a second-ever European Final at the expense of Richards and Co.
Elsewhere, Johnny Cardoso and Atletico Madrid visit Arsenal seeking to book their place into the UEFA Champions League Final. Lindsey Heaps and Lyon close out their league schedule against Montpellier. Emily Fox and Arsenal seek a bounce-back result midweek after being eliminated from the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
