Why Arsenal Want Yildiz
Mikel Arteta’s side are short of options out wide following the summer exits of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard. Vinicius Junior was reportedly their preferred target for a left-wing signing, but his commitment to Real Madrid forced a change of plan.
Yildiz is most dangerous from the left, where he can take on defenders, drift inside and shoot from range. The Turkey international has made 132 senior appearances for Juventus, contributing to 48 goals.
Juventus Unlikely to Budge
Any deal looks far from straightforward. Yildiz is tied to Juventus until June 2030, and the Bianconeri view him as central to their long-term project. Only an exceptional offer is expected to prompt negotiations, and even €100m offers no guarantee of success.
Fitness Concerns and Timeline
The winger is still working his way back to full fitness after breaking a foot in late August, which has disrupted his season. Arsenal are said to be planning talks with Juventus in the first two weeks of December to gauge whether a winter move is realistic.
Our Take
Yildiz would give Arsenal the creative spark and left-sided balance they currently lack. However, paying a fee of that size for a player returning from injury is a considerable gamble, and Juventus hold all the leverage given his long contract. Unless Arsenal are prepared to go well beyond their valuation, this one may be better suited to the summer.
