Brighton keeper Poulter joins Lewes on short-term loan

Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Hannah Poulter has joined FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division club Lewes on a short-term loan deal.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Seagulls last night.

The 21-year-old stopper joins Lewes in search of some competitive football with the player in need of minutes.

Poulter joined Brighton & Hove Albion in summer 2024, but the England youth international has found first team opportunities hard to come by so far. The player did enjoy a loan spell at former second tier club Portsmouth in the 2024/2025 season where she made 11 appearances. She helped Pompey avoid relegation from Barclays WSL2 in that campaign.

The player will now be hoping to help Lewes in the coming weeks.

After Poulter’s loan move was agreed, Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Arturo Ruiz said “This will be a good opportunity for Hannah to get some regular minutes in a competitive environment.

“She’s a talented young goalkeeper with an excellent work ethic, and this move will give her experience to support her development.

“We’ll monitor her progress closely and wish her the best during this period away.”

Poulter could go straight into the Lewes squad for this evening’s FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division fixture against Fulham at The Dripping Pan.
