Khadija “Bunny” Shaw has officially finished as the Women’s FA Cup top scorer among WSL clubs, capping another outstanding season for Manchester City Women. Her goal in the 4-0 Wembley final win over Brighton took her to five in the competition and secured a share of the Golden Boot.
That tally drew Bunny Shaw level with Chelsea’s Sam Kerr, while also adding to a campaign in which Khadija Shaw has already made more history in the WSL. She became the first player to win the WSL Golden Boot three seasons running, and her new long-term future was also confirmed in Manchester City staying news earlier this month.
Bunny Shaw: It has been a special season
Speaking after City’s latest honours haul, Shaw reflected on what the campaign has meant, in quotes reported by Manchester City’s official website.
“It has been a special season for me and for the team,” she said, according to the club’s official website.
“To help the team win trophies and to contribute with goals is always important. I just want to keep working hard, keep improving and keep helping this club in every competition.”
Shaw’s Women’s FA Cup run began with a goal in the 6-0 win over Bournemouth, before she struck again against Birmingham City and then twice in that dramatic semi-final comeback against Chelsea, as covered in She Kicks’ report on City’s semi-final win.
And the Wembley finish underlined the scale of her season. Shaw ended 2025/26 with 27 goals in all competitions as Manchester City Women backed up their cup success after a title-winning league campaign under Andree Jeglertz, with more on that in She Kicks’ WSL champions coverage.
Across the competition as a whole, Leyton Orient forward Sammy Rowland finished as the overall top scorer, while Shaw and Kerr led the way among WSL players in the Women’s FA Cup scoring charts.
