Ghanaian champions Medeama SC have departed for the Democratic Republic of Congo ahead of Saturday’s decisive CAF Champions League preliminary round second-leg clash against TP Mazembe.The Yellow and Mauves left Ghana on Tuesday evening for Lubumbashi, hoping to arrive early enough to prepare adequately for one of their biggest assignments of the season.Medeama head into the return leg trailing after suffering a narrow defeat to the Congolese giants in the first meeting.The Ghanaian side hosted TP Mazembe at the TnA Stadium in Tarkwa in the first leg on Sunday.After a closely contested encounter, the visitors scored late to secure a narrow victory and take an advantage into the return fixture.Medeama must now deliver a strong away performance to overturn the deficit and progress in Africa’s premier club competition.The crucial second leg is scheduled for Saturday, 12 September.
