Losing to Tottenham at home at the weekend wasn’t just three frustrating points dropped for Chelsea. It was a rare and painful loss to a rival at home, in a game where we never really looked like competing.
On the London is Blue podcast they noted how unacceptable this result was for fans.
Tottenham grab second Stamford Bridge win since 1990

“Spurs got their first win at Stamford Bridge since 2018. Back then we were competing with Moussa Dembele in midfield, Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son,” pundit CFCCentral pointed out.
“You compare this team to that, and it’s nowhere close to that quality.
“Their last win before that was in 1990. That tells you all there is in terms of legacy shattered, and it will take a long time to get over this debacle.”
This is a Tottenham team without any of those top players. A team which won its first game of the season just a few days before we played them. Losing in such feeble fashion is embarrassing, and it’s hard to remember a one off result which has done so much damage to a manager’s credibility.
You can see him making the comparison in the clip embedded here:
