Emanuel Poku scores in Almere City’s win over FC Eindhoven




Dutch-Ghanaian midfielder Emanuel Poku scored as Almere City FC claimed a convincing 3-0 win over FC Eindhoven in the Eerste Divisie.Almere made a fast start, with Poku opening the scoring in the 12th minute. The home side doubled its advantage through Milan de Haan in the 29th minute, giving Almere a two-goal cushion at the break. Marley Dors had a chance to add another before half-time, but his 23rd-minute penalty was saved.James Lawrence settled the contest in the 61st minute, heading home from a de Haan assist to make it 3-0. Poku was substituted seven minutes later as Almere comfortably saw out the result.The midfielder has been a regular contributor in the league this season. He has made 10 appearances, scoring four goals and providing three assists, including his strike against Eindhoven.Almere will next face Emmen in the Eerste Divisie on October 17. Poku will be looking to maintain his strong form and help his side build on a home victory that keeps them near the top end of the table.
