Everton and Manchester United play out goalless draw at Goodison Park

Everton and Manchester United could not be separated as they played out a goalless draw at Goodison Park this afternoon.

Both sides had chances, but neither could make the breakthrough on Merseyside.

Yuka Momiki had an attempt from distance for Everton, but it went wide of the net before Andrea Medina tried to curl the ball towards the far corner, but her effort was well caught by Courtney Brosnan who celebrated 100 appearances for The Toffees.

Ornella Vignola sent a ball through with force, but it went straight to Phallon Tullis-Joyce who caught it with ease. Hannah Blundell then attempted to loop the ball over the Manchester United defence, but the ball was caught once again by Tullis-Joyce.

Vignola had another attempt at a goal, it was very similar to her first and once again, the ball was gathered by Tullis-Joyce.

Elisabeth Terland’s effort was then caught well by Brosnan.

Ruby Mace delivered a free-kick straight into the gloves of Tullis-Joyce before Simi Awujo had a shot from range, but it went wide.

Brosnan made an incredible save to deny Terland late on. The ball moved strongly, but Brosnan was quick and it caught well.

In the end, neither side could find the back of the net as the scoreline remained 0-0.

Everton return to action next Saturday when they go to Chelsea. Manchester United travel to Aston Villa next Sunday.
