ROME, Ga. – After a dominant performance in goal for the Monarchs against No. 25 Christopher Newport University, freshman Kiera Ferguson was awarded USA South Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week as announced by the league offices on Monday afternoon.
This honor comes for the Monarchs women’s soccer program as the first weekly conference award since October 28th, 2024, as Kelsey Burge received the USA South Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Against the nationally recognized Captains, Ferguson competed in all 90 minutes of action, only surrendering one goal off 29 shots, collecting a career and season-best ten saves in her collegiate debut for the Monarchs.
