Bayern Munich beat Werder Bremen 3-1 at the FC Bayern Campus on Friday 6 November, scoring twice in the final seven minutes to make it nine wins from nine in the Frauen Bundesliga. Edna Imade had given José Barcala’s side a first-half lead before Elena Dhont levelled for the visitors, and the game stayed balanced until the 84th minute.

Then Linda Dallmann struck. Three minutes later Jovana Damnjanović added a third from a Momoko Tanikawa pass.

Imade opens the scoring on 21 minutes

Bayern controlled the ball from the start, finishing with 61% possession and 478 passes to Bremen’s 310. The breakthrough came in the 21st minute, when Imade converted a pass from Mattner-Trembleau. It was Imade’s fourth league goal of the season, putting her level with Bremer, Freigang, Linberg and Stoldt and two behind team-mate Bühl.

The first half grew scrappy. Michelle Weiß was booked for Bremen in the 31st minute and Pernille Harder went into the book for Bayern 5 minutes later. The hosts took a 1-0 lead into the break.

Dhont equaliser briefly halts the leaders

Bremen needed only 5 minutes of the second half to draw level. Lilli Purtscheller set up Dhont in the 50th minute, and for more than half an hour the visitors held firm. Imade and Vanessa Gilles were both cautioned within 3 minutes of each other shortly after the equaliser.

Bayern’s pressure was relentless, though. They finished with 18 shots to Bremen’s 4, 14 of them from inside the box, and forced 4 corners while Bremen won none. Their expected goals total of 2.16 was more than double Bremen’s 1.05. The visitors committed 17 fouls to Bayern’s 10, with Mei Shimada booked in the 80th minute.

Dallmann, who played the full 90 minutes, restored the lead in the 84th minute. Damnjanović, on the pitch for just 18 minutes, made the game safe in the 87th. Michelle Ulbrich’s booking a minute later was the last notable act.

Tanikawa made the difference from the bench. In 27 minutes she created 5 chances, including the assist for the third goal, and was rated 7.7, the highest on the pitch. Imade was close behind on 7.68.

Three-point lead over Wolfsburg after nine matches

Bayern sit top on 27 points with a goal difference of 24, 3 points clear of VfL Wolfsburg. They are unbeaten in six matches in all competitions, with a 2-2 draw against Real Madrid the only game in that run they did not win.

The head-to-head record keeps getting worse for Bremen. Bayern have now won the last six meetings between the clubs, including a 2-0 win in Bremen on 29 April 2026 and a 4-0 victory in Munich on 4 October 2025.

Defeat ended a three-match winning run for Thomas Horsch’s side, who had beaten SC Freiburg, 1899 Hoffenheim and Mainz 05 in succession. Bremen are fourth on 16 points, one behind Eintracht Frankfurt in third.

Bayern turn to Europe next, travelling to Paris Saint Germain in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday 10 November. Bremen are back at home on Saturday 14 November, when Union Berlin visit in the Frauen Bundesliga.
