Manuel Neuer is set to sign a new contract with Bayern Munich and extend his stay at the Allianz Arena, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Neuer is out of contract at Bayern at the end of the season, and the well-known and well-respected Italian journalist has revealed that the 40-year-old German
Romano said on his YouTube channel: “Today a meeting took place between the agent of Manuel Neuer and Bayern to continue together.
“40 years old goalkeeper stays at Bayern next season.
“Now the agreement is about the contract details, but Neuer wants to stay and play one more year for Bayern.
“It would be incredible. 16 years together – Manuel Neuer and FC Bayern for sure would be something special.
“So, the agreement is getting closer.”
Neuer has been on the books of Bayern since 2011. The veteran German goalkeeper has won the Bundesliga title 13 times and the UEFA Champions League twice with the Bavarian giants so far in his career.
