
Ghana midfielder Steven Nufour has left Criciuma and is now without a club after ending his spell with the Brazilian Serie B side.
The 21-year-old defensive midfielders departure was recorded on 19 August 2026, bringing his time with Criciuma to an end. No transfer fee was recorded for the move.
Nufour joined Criciumas senior squad from Criciuma Under-20s on 1 January 2026, having previously moved to the clubs youth setup from Ceara Under-20s. His latest change of status follows a period in which he featured across Brazilian domestic competitions.
The Accra-born player made one Serie B appearance for Criciuma, playing one minute. He also appeared in the Campeonato Catarinense, Copa do Nordeste, Copinha and the CBF Brasileiro Under-20 competition.
His most substantial involvement came at youth level, where he made nine appearances in the CBF Brasileiro Under-20 and played 498 minutes. He added three appearances in the Copinha, three in the Copa do Nordeste and two in the Campeonato Catarinense, giving him 18 recorded appearances across those competitions and the Serie B.
Nufour began his Brazilian career with Ceara Under-20s after leaving Ghanaian club Dansoman Wise in July 2023. He spent two seasons with Cearas youth side before switching to Criciuma Under-20s in February 2025 on a free transfer.
Standing at 1.91m and preferred-footed on the right, Nufour has been listed primarily as a defensive midfielder. His playing record includes appearances at both youth and senior level in Brazil, with his senior involvement coming during his time at Criciuma.
The move leaves Nufour without a club following his departure from Criciuma on 19 August 2026.
