Vitor Roque agent confirms Everton interest in €50m move

Everton’s interest in Palmeiras striker Vitor Roque is no longer just talk in Brazil. His agent, André Cury, has confirmed it, and he has made clear the Blues are far from alone.

According to Bolavip, Cury was asked about the 21-year-old’s future and did not dodge the question. He confirmed the approach from Everton and added: “There are many clubs in Europe interested in Vitor.”

That line matters, because Everton are not the only Premier League club keeping tabs on him. Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham are also monitoring the forward, and all four clubs are said to be in contact with his camp ahead of the January window.

Who else wants Vitor Roque?

The list is a strong one. Chelsea, Man United and Tottenham are all watching how the situation develops, with a possible move in January 2027 the target. The English window reopens at the end of December and runs until early February, so the next few weeks will show whether any of this interest turns into an official offer.

Palmeiras, as usual, are saying nothing in public about the market. Behind the scenes, though, they have no intention of making things easy.

How much would Vitor Roque cost?

Palmeiras have set €50m (around R$310m) as the minimum figure just to open talks for the man their fans call ‘Tigrinho’. That is roughly double what they paid for him: he arrived from Barcelona in February 2025 for €25.5m, which made him the most expensive signing in the club’s history.

His contract runs until December 2029, so the Brazilian club are in a strong position. There is another twist too. Palmeiras own 80% of his economic rights, while Barcelona kept the other 20% of any future sale. That split is one more reason Palmeiras will push for the biggest fee they can get.

What has he done since leaving Barcelona?

Roque never settled at Barcelona, but going home has worked. He scored 20 goals in his first season at Palmeiras and has 10 in 40 matches in 2026, despite a stop-start year. He had surgery on his left ankle in May and then hurt his right ankle in early October, after the win over Corinthians.

He is back now. On Thursday he scored Palmeiras’ fourth goal in a 6-1 thrashing of Remo in the Brasileirão.

Can Everton afford a €50m striker?

This is the big question for David Moyes. Everton were ready to spend more than €40m on Folarin Balogun at the end of the summer window, but the Friedkins pulled the funding late on. Since then the owners have looked reluctant to spend heavily, even though they have insisted Moyes will be backed in January, whatever their plans to sell the club.

We have already looked at how Everton’s owners will reportedly only sanction loans and frees in January, which hardly fits a €50m bid for a 21-year-old. The squad need is real, though. Selling Beto to Fiorentina for €18m left Moyes with one senior striker.

That striker is Thierno Barry, and he is doing the job. He has been impressive leading the line on his own, including two goals in the 3-1 win over Coventry. So Everton must decide whether to spend big on a second striker or look for a cheaper option to support Barry.

Is Vitor Roque to Everton realistic?

Honestly, it looks like a long shot. Cury confirming Everton’s interest is a boost, but an agent who says “many clubs” are interested is also an agent building a market. With Chelsea, Man United and Spurs in the same conversation, Palmeiras have every reason to hold out for €50m or more.

For Everton, the smarter play may be a loan or a cheaper back-up for Barry in January, with Roque kept on the list for later. Still, it says plenty about where the club want to be that a player of his profile is on it at all. If the Friedkins do find the money, this would be the statement signing Blues fans have been waiting for.
