Swedish midfielder Yasin Ayari is utilizing an unconventional heat-acclimatization strategy by training in layers to prepare for an upcoming international fixture against the Netherlands under intense Texas heat.

The Brighton & Hove Albion player is employing techniques inspired by his North African heritage, aiming to minimize the physical impact of extreme conditions.

The 22-year-old Ayari has been practicing in a full tracksuit to prepare for the, aiming to avoid a shock to his system during the match.

This training approach comes following a high-profile, two-goal performance against Tunisia, the birthplace of his father.

Despite being born in Sweden, Ayari has utilized techniques from his time in North Africa to adapt to the climate.

“It’s to get used to the heat,” he told Sportbladet. “People usually do that in the Sahara to protect themselves from the sun. It’s just to be ready for the matches so that it won’t be such a big shock.”

“In Morocco I’ve done it a few times when I’ve been there,” he said, before admitting: “But not in the Sahara.”
