Draw against Debibi United is a fair result – Kotoko coach Eric Tinkler

Asante Kotoko head coach Eric Tinkler has described his sides 2-2 draw with Debibi United in the opening weekend of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League as a fair result. The Porcupine Warriors locked horns with the newly promoted side at the Golden City Park in Berekum on Sunday, hoping to secure a win to kick off the new campaign on a positive note.Despite scoring the first goal, Kotoko later had to labour in the second half to salvage a point.Speaking in his post-match interview, Eric Tinkler raised concern about the goals his team conceded, insisting that in the end they did not deserve the three points.I think its a fair outcome because, ultimately, I dont think we did enough to win this game. The performance itself I was not entirely happy with how we conceded the goals. We knew exactly where the threat came from and we allowed the goals that we conceded. The performance, it was not enough. The draw is a fair outcome, the Kotoko coach told the press. After the draw in their first league match, Kotoko will now look to recover when they host Heart of Lions at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi next weekend.
