
Ghanas Black Starlets held their second training session in Ouagadougou on Thursday, October 8, as preparations gathered pace for their opening match at the 2026 WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship.
The team worked at the Terrain Carfo, continuing their build-up to Saturdays Group opener against Togo. The session came a day after the squads first workout at the Terrain USFA, following their arrival in the Burkinabe capital.
Coach Kassim Ocansey and his technical team used the latest training session to refine the sides preparations while the players continued adapting to the conditions in Ouagadougou.
With the tournament opener approaching, the Black Starlets are now focused on completing their preparations for the meeting with Togo.
Ghana will face Togo on Saturday, October 10, with kick-off scheduled for 18:00GMT. The Black Starlets will be aiming for a positive start as they look to build on their recent performances in regional football.
The team reached the final of last years WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship in Cote dIvoire, finishing as runners-up. That campaign also helped Ghana secure qualification for the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The experience gained in Cote dIvoire gives Ocanseys team a strong foundation as they begin their campaign in Ouagadougou. Their immediate objective will be to convert that experience into victory against Togo in their first fixture.
