Valencia beat Eibar 2-1 in the Primera División Femenina on Saturday at the Estadio Antonio Puchades, ending a run of five straight defeats. They did it with ten players for the final half-hour after Climent was sent off in the 62nd minute, and they still needed Eibar to miss a penalty in the 11th minute of stoppage time to hold on.

Mrabet and Pauleta turn the game after Martín’s opener

A goalless first half carried little warning of what followed. Valencia picked up two bookings before the break, Climent in the 37th minute and Wifi in the 45th, both for fouls.

Eibar struck immediately after the restart. Martín scored in the 46th minute from an assist by Álvarez to put the visitors in front.

The response came from a familiar pairing. Pauleta, booked for unsportsmanlike conduct in the 51st minute, supplied Mrabet for the equaliser four minutes later.

Then Valencia lost Climent. Already cautioned, she was shown a red card for unsportsmanlike conduct in the 62nd minute, leaving the hosts a player short with nearly half an hour still to play.

Five minutes later they were ahead anyway. Pauleta again provided the assist and Mrabet again finished, putting Valencia 2-1 up in the 67th minute.

Álvarez misses from the spot in the 11th minute of stoppage time

The closing stages were scrappy. Botero was booked for Eibar in the 69th minute, while Granell and Mrabet collected yellow cards for Valencia in the second and seventh minutes of stoppage time respectively. That took the home side’s tally to five yellows and a red.

Eibar had one last chance. Álvarez, who created the opener, stepped up for a penalty deep into added time and missed. The final whistle followed.

Mrabet finished with two goals and a booking. Pauleta finished with two assists.

Valencia end Eibar’s dominance in the fixture

This head-to-head had long favoured Eibar. Before Valencia’s 2-0 home win on 3 May 2025, Eibar had won four straight meetings, including a 5-1 victory on 15 May 2022 and back-to-back 2-0 wins in May and September 2024. Saturday’s result gives Valencia two wins in a row against them.

It was also Valencia’s first win in six matches across all competitions, following defeats by Real Madrid, Granada Tenerife, Real Sociedad, Athletic Club and a 4-0 loss to Atletico Madrid.

Eibar, by contrast, have now gone four games without a win. Their last victory came against Sevilla, and since then they have drawn with Granada and Madrid CFF and lost to Deportivo de La Coruña and Valencia.

In the table, Eibar are sixth on 12 points with a goal difference of -1, two points behind Madrid CFF in fifth. Valencia are 16th.

Both clubs switch to the Copa de la Reina next week. Eibar travel to Levante on Wednesday 4 November, and Valencia visit CD Samper a day later, on Thursday 5 November.
